Se guérir de ce qui nous a été inculqué : qui d’entre nous n’en éprouve pas aujourd’hui l’urgence et le défi, dans un contexte où il nous faut refonder notre compréhension de l’histoire, des valeurs et des communs qui nous relient les un·e·s aux autres ? Comment nous y prendre pour réinventer nos savoirs et nos manières de vivre ? Comment ne pas renoncer à une tâche aussi vertigineuse ? Et comment entendre, malgré l’ébranlement généralisé, le besoin de régénération de celleux qui ont été meurtri·e·s par les institutions chargées de les construire ? — Faire par exemple un pas de côté par rapport à ce qui est attendu de moi. Dériver, suivre mon instinct, le bonheur d’une rencontre, l’éblouissement d’une découverte, avec entêtement. Suivre Stéphane Martelly et Claudia Brutus le long du fil transatlantique qu’elles tressent ensemble depuis deux ans. Y greffer mes propres histoires, souvenirs d’enfance, rêves de demain. Tendre l’oreille.

To overcome what has been instilled in us: Who among us today is not feeling the urgency of this challenge, in a context where we sense the need to radically reform our understanding of the history, values, and common ties that bind us all? How do we go about reinventing our knowledge and lifestyles? How do we not give up in the face of such a staggering task?
And how can we understand, given the general turmoil everywhere, the need to recover for those who have been injured by the very institutions responsible for educating them? To take a step back, for example, from what is expected of me. To drift, to follow my instincts, the joy of an encounter, the fascination of discovery, with determination. To follow the transatlantic thread that Stéphane Martelly and Claudia Brutus have been weaving together in the past two years. And add my own stories, childhood memories, future dreams to it. Lend an ear.
