La réciprocité désigne une relation aux implications singulières : les liens qu’elle tisse entre les êtres et les choses se fondent sur la capacité à donner tout autant qu’à recevoir, dans le temps et un mouvement de va-et-vient potentiellement sans fin. Il ne s’agit pas de prendre, ni seulement de donner, mais de reconnaître et d’agir en conséquence, c’est-à-dire en vue d’un bien commun, quoi qu’il nous en coûte individuellement.

Reciprocity refers to a relationship with unique implications: the ties it weaves between beings and things are based on the ability to give just as much as to receive, across time and through a potentially endless back-and-forth movement. It is not about taking, nor simply about giving, but about recognizing and acting accordingly—that is, with a view to the common good, no matter the individual cost.
